Dead Man’s Cards (2006) – Storyline:

Tom is an ex-boxer at a run down nightclub in this modern Western. His boss, a battle hardened veteran recognizes his fighting abilities and teaches him how to be a “peace keeper” at the club. Trouble rides into town to settle a score, tension escalates and Tom is forced to question his new loyalties.

When Tom, James McMartin, suffers a bad eye injury his boxing career comes to an end, and his marriage begins to suffer. After a chance encounter at the gym, Tom is offered a job working as a door man for the same run-down night club as Paul (Paul Barber), a tough-looking man who likes to use his knuckle duster.

Paul is a volatile man with a history of violence. After learning of Tom’s background in boxing he takes him under his wing to teach him the ways of being a door man. Tom soon falls in love with the barmaid for the club and his loyalties are put to the ultimate test as Paul gets increasingly more in trouble with violent gangsters from the area.

Review Of Dead Man’s Cards Full Movie:

This movie wasn’t that good but Okay type. In an after-hours world of pug-faced souse smack addicts and street fights, James McMartin and his mentor Paul Barber are privy to a doorman’s-eye-view of a life most of us only glimpse. Bulldog hard but bullfrog smart, they occupy a no-man’s land between the police and the preps that evokes the lawlessness of the Wild West.
